My birth name is James Collier Jr. I am generally referred to as Jim. That name is my nickname. In recent times it has come to be known as my casual name. People also call me J.C. My two sisters,my aunts and uncles still refers to me as Jimmy. Some things never change when it comes to family and that’s good for me. I am a family oriented person. All my life I have been a resident of Michigan. I grew up in St. Clair Shores and went to a number of local schools. I graduated from Lake Shore High School and later attended Wayne State University. My intentions were to go to law school at Wayne State but I entered the work force and I never went back. It’s funny how things work out.  I spent more than thirty years in retail; twenty eight of those years were with one employer. Most of those years were in management positions of various titles. My job involved a lot of confidential information. I was in a position of trust. I left that field for a career in insurance and I am still in a position of trust. I like responsibility and I still treat confidential information confidentially.
The years that I spent in retail management were good for me. They prepared me to be better at what I do. I was very involved with resolving issues, uncovering needs and helping people. It was there that I learned to see things from the guest perspective. I am very customer/client oriented. Getting results and satisfying clients motivates me. What could be better than that in the world of insurance?
